Alternatives Modes of Mass Rapid Transit Systems in Bangkok

There are many alternative modes of mass rapid transit system in Bangkok to prevent people from overusing their personal vehicles.

In 1999, the Bangkok Transit System ( BTS Skytrain ) became the first mass rapid transit system in the country with two tracks elevated on Sukhumvit and Sathorn line.

In 2004, the Mass Rapid Transit ( MRT ) system into two mass rapid transit country, and the first subway in the country with 100 % underground structures linking Bang Sue to Hua Lamphong Central District Station.

In 2010, Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link ( ARL ) became the first City - to - Airport express routes, with additional transit train service to accommodate the airport staff working at Bangkok airport.

Thai people believe that the mass transit system is considered as an ideal solution to increasing traffic congestion Bangkok, and it is the main reason why many new mass rapid transit line built.
